Bring the stairs into the flooring plan. New Era Flooring works on stair recaps, new staircases and railing changes, including removing carpet from existing stairs and installing hardwood steps.
A staircase update can include the steps, risers and stringers as well as the railing. We can discuss white risers and stringers or a wood finish to coordinate with the steps. The work may also include new spindles, hardware, newel posts and railings, depending on the scope of the project.
You may not want to replace every part of the staircase. Existing railing components can be considered for removal, off-site refinishing and reinstallation alongside the new flooring. We can also discuss new components and stain-matching options, with the existing materials taken into account.
If you prefer a carpet runner or fully carpeted stairs, ask about arranging that work through our carpet contact. It is a separate service arrangement, rather than an automatic part of a hardwood stair installation.
If you would rather keep the hardwood, we can apply a non-slip stair finish when the stairs are refinished or when new hardwood steps are installed.
When a project joins new hardwood to an existing floor, we can assess the tie-in and refinishing work together. We can also discuss stain matching for localized repairs. Matching has limits, so the existing material and the areas being changed need to be considered for each job.
Ask about protection for floors, carpets and stairs while work is taking place. Include the areas you want covered when discussing the job so floor protection can be considered alongside the installation or repair work.
If moving the furniture is the difficult part, ask about arranging professional movers to clear the work area and put items back afterwards. You can also handle the room clearance yourself. Moving is optional and has a separate cost; it is not automatically included in the flooring work.
We tidy and vacuum the flooring work area at the end of the job. If you want a more extensive clean of the home, ask about a separate post-construction or deep-cleaning arrangement. The rooms, surfaces and additional cost should be discussed as their own scope.
The work can cover carpet removal, hardwood steps and white or wood risers and stringers. Changes to spindles, hardware, newel posts and railings can also be discussed, depending on the scope.
You may be able to reuse the existing railing parts after off-site refinishing. We can discuss that option or replacement, taking their materials and your planned changes into account.
We can discuss arranging either option through a separate carpet contact. Carpet work is a separate service, not an automatic part of hardwood stair installation.
Yes. We can apply a non-slip finish when stairs are refinished or when new hardwood steps are installed.
We can assess the join with your existing floor and discuss refinishing. Stain matching has limits and depends on the material already there and the areas being changed.
Tell us which floors, carpets and stairs you want covered during the work. Protection for those areas can then be considered when planning the installation or repair.
Ask about arranging professional movers to clear the work area and return the furniture afterwards, or clear the space yourself. Moving is optional, costs extra and is not automatically included in the flooring work.
Routine cleanup covers tidying and vacuuming the flooring work area. A more extensive home clean is a separate arrangement, so discuss the rooms, surfaces and added cost if you want one.
