A tile project includes the work beneath the finished surface. New Era Flooring can remove existing tile, prepare the subfloor and install new ceramic or tile flooring, with membrane and waterproofing work included in the scope where required.
We can assess the existing floor, remove old ceramic tile and discuss subfloor repairs, levelling and membrane installation. You can also ask about preparation or an assessment as a separate piece of work, rather than assuming every enquiry has to become a full replacement.
Changing away from tile is another option to discuss. We have experience removing tile and tying new hardwood into an existing hardwood floor, followed by refinishing to work towards a coordinated result. Matching depends on the existing floor and should be assessed for the project.
Ask about a heated floor system and waterproofing as part of a tile floor project. Where an electrical connection is needed, we can coordinate with a separate electrician. Plumbing work in a bathroom can also be coordinated with a separate plumber. If you already have trades you prefer to use, we can plan the flooring work around that arrangement.
Yes. Tile work can include removing old ceramic tile, preparing the subfloor and installing the membrane or waterproofing specified for the project.
We use Schluter systems: the DITRA uncoupling membrane under tile floors, and the KERDI waterproofing membrane under and behind tile in wet areas.
Ask about an assessment, preparation-only work or a complete tile installation so the scope starts with what your floor actually needs.
Yes. We remove the tile, tie new hardwood into your existing floor and refinish. See replacing tile with hardwood.
No. We can bring in an electrician and a plumber we work with, or work with your own trades.
Ask about protection for floors, carpets and stairs while work is taking place. Include the areas you want covered when discussing the job so floor protection can be considered alongside the installation or repair work.
If moving the furniture is the difficult part, ask about arranging professional movers to clear the work area and put items back afterwards. You can also handle the room clearance yourself. Moving is optional and has a separate cost; it is not automatically included in the flooring work.
We tidy and vacuum the flooring work area at the end of the job. If you want a more extensive clean of the home, ask about a separate post-construction or deep-cleaning arrangement. The rooms, surfaces and additional cost should be discussed as their own scope.
